Halloween Safety Tips

Equinox Broadcasting and our local business partners care about you and your little ones safety.

Here are some tips on how to have a safe and happy Halloween!

  • Hold a flashlight while trick-or-treating to help you see and to help others see you.
  • Always WALK and don't run from house to house.
  • Always test make-up in a small area first. And be sure to remove it before bed time to prevent any possible skin and eye irritation.
  • Look both ways before crossing the street. Use crosswalks whenever possible.
  • Avoid wearing decorative contact lenses, as they can cause serious eye injury.
  • Only trick or treat at houses with the porch light lit. If you're not sure, it's best to move on to the next house.

  • Eat only factory wrapped treats. Avoid eating homemade treats made by strangers.
  • Wear well-fitting masks, costumes, and shoes to avoid blocked vision, trips, and falls.
  • Don't go into strangers houses. Only accept treats from the door with a trusted adult nearby.
  • Be careful not to walk near lit candles or luminaries. Be sure to wear flame resistant costumes.
  • Don't eat any candy until an adult checks it.
  • Pay attention when walking past driveways to be sure cars are not pulling out of it.
